Yes, those are Ziploc bags duct taped over my child's hands. He does not have waterproof gloves, or gloves that will stay on his hands beyond 10 seconds. So...we got a little creative.

Nativity

We returned to the live nativity scene at Lincoln Park this year. Jack was much more interested in the animals and, though it was cold, was pretty content to just chew on his jacket the whole night. Click here to see the pics from last year...he's grown so much!!!

And finally...just too cute not to share. Because of a little skin rash, we've been giving him oatmeal baths for the past couple of nights. Great results...but Jack is definitely not a fan.

Getting ready for a DC Christmas!

We'll be here for Christmas this year, and we are gearing up for a big holiday season with Jack. It's so much fun to see him take more interest in things this year.

This is just a fun video of Jack taking batting practice with Daddy. Hunts and Griffiths, if you can hear the song playing in the background, you'll know why John cracks me up at about 35 seconds into it. (cracks me up with one of those big belly, pregnant laughs)

5 Year Anniversary

For our 5th anniversary weekend, Jack and I picked up John from training on Friday afternoon and headed down to Williamsburg for a little getaway. (It counts as a "getaway" for me, because taking a break from solo parenting is a treat!) We had such a fun time together. It's amazing to see the difference in Jack every weekend when he has both of his parents. Really sweet.

Apples, or "app-puls!" as Jack says, are the new must-have for this season. If he's tired, cranky, bored in his car seat or stroller...an apple will usually provide the distraction that we need. I always have one on hand.

For dinner Saturday night, we thought it'd be fun to take Jack to his first Japanese steak house. The initial big ball of fire was a little much, but once Jack realized that food was part of the deal, he warmed up a bit.

It's such a shame that I did not get his #1 favorite hotel item - the big king size bed with about a dozen pillows. Every time we came in the room, he would run in the bedroom, shouting "bed!", "bed!". He was delirious. Really, who needs Disneyworld?
